Private Day Tour to Datong from Beijing by Train: Yungang Caves, Hanging Temple

At 7am (the pickup time might be changed per the train time after you booked the tour), you will be picked up from your centrally located Beijing hotel, then transferred to the train station to catch the 2-hour bullet train to Datong. Upon arrival, take another one-hour car ride to Hanging Temple. The Temple was built with wood beside the cliff and supported with long stakes. You will view the temple from outside for the fantastic constructions on the impressive mountains. Please note you don't have time to walk inside the Hanging Temple to visit, because it limits the daily visitors with a long queue. 

Then, you will come back Datong and head to Yungang Grottos, which was first chiseled in the first year of Year Heping in Northern Wei and Monk Tan Yao at that time chiseled it for duty of Emperor Wencheng. Most of the grottoes were finished in the eighteenth year of Year Taihe in Northern Wei before the capital moved to Luoyang, which lasted for forty years. 

Later, you will be transferred back to Datong railway station to catch the bullet train back to Beijing. Upon arrival, you will be transferred back to your Beijing hotel where the tour concludes.
