Guizhou, located on the Yungui Plateau in China, is a province with various minorities. This 9-day tour will let you explore the interesting Dong and Miao villages, old town, Mt Fanjing, Large Seven-Hole Bridge, and Small Seven-Hole Bridge Scenic Zones etc. with local guide.
Welcome to Guiyang. You will be met and welcomed by the guide in Guiyang Airport. Guizhou is nicknamed 'The Kingdom of Mountains', as 87% of its land is comprised of mountains and plateaus. Today's program highlights the remaining culture of the old Han (Chinese) ethnic group. The ancestors of these villagers migrated from Jiangxi Province to Guizhou Province in the Ming Dynasty. We will visit Tianlong Old Han Village. Women here are still dressed in traditional Ming dynasty costumes, and houses remain faithful to the Ming architectural styles. In the village we would also watch the Ground Opera, which is called a fossil of opera because it has been played for over 6 centuries. Afterwards, you will take 30-minute car ride to Anshun.
Please arrive in Guiyang before 2pm.
Today you will visit Huangguoshu Waterfall and Tianxingqiao. The Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is 223 feet in height and 276 feet in width, is the biggest in Asia. This site can be crowded with tourists (Jun.-Sep.) but the spectacular site makes up for it. It is especially beautiful as the rainbow arches over the falls. You will walk along a well-cut cliff path where you can view the water curtain from behind. The walk will be 1-1.5 hours along well-cut steps. After lunch, you will visit Tianxingqiao, a complex of different land formation of karst. You will return to Guiyang in the evening.
Take a 3-hour ride to Libo where you will visit the Large Seven-Hole Bridge, and Small Seven-Hole Bridge Scenic Zones that are the UNESCO sites for its stunning scenery in the Karst mountains.
After breakfast, you will take a 3-hour car ride to Basha Village,which is a Miao village in the Dong area, ‘the last tribe with guns in China’ is the most suitable description for this village. A small Miao village with very little signs of modern influence for Guizhou travel. The people rarely venture out of the village except for selling firewood and shopping for daily necessities in markets, and both men and women can be seen in traditional costumes, wearing their hair long.
Then you will move to Zhaoxing Dong Village that is one of the largest Dong villages in the region, with more than 700 households and a population of 4000.
After breakfast, you will take 3.5-hour car ride to Zhenyuan today in the morning, a remote old town nesting beside Wuyang river in a valley where there are few tourists. You can wander around the paved street to take photos everywhere.
Take 3-hour car ride to Mount Fanjing this morning, which is a new UNESCO site in 2018 for its amazing scenery and well-preserved enviorement. Take round-way cable cay to visit Mt Fanjing.
Later, you will head to the hotel in Tongren.
Today you will take 4-hour car ride to Xijiang Miao Village, which is a small village where you can see how local Miao ladies dress up with traditional embroideries. Afterwards you willl head to Kaili hotel.
Drive 3 hours back to Guiyang, visit Jiaxiu Pavilion which is the symbol of Guiyang city, with a long history of more than 400 years.
Then you will check in the hotel.
Depart from Guiyang, the tour concludes at the airport or railway station.
