Private 2-day tour to Datong from Beijing by train

At 7:30am (the pickup time might be changed per the train time after you booked the tour), you will be picked up from your centrally located Beijing hotel, then transferred to the train station to catch the 2-hour bullet train to Datong. 

Upon arrival, take another one-hour car ride to Hanging Temple. The Temple was built with wood beside the cliff and supported with long stakes. You will view the temple from outside for the fantastic constructions on the impressive mountains. Please note you may not be able to walk inside the Hanging Temple to visit, because it limits the daily visitors with a long queue. 

Afterwards, you will be transferred back to Datong city. You will visit the old Huayan Temple, which is one of the well-known Buddhism temples built 1000 years ago. There are statutes, pagoda, and halls to visit.

Then, you will move to Nine Dragon Wall, that used to be part of the king palace built 600 years ago in Ming Dynasty. It is the best and earliest nine-dragon wall in China. The nine dragons are well carved, each one is vivid to tell its wonderful pose.

Later, you will be transferred to Datong hotel to check in.

Enjoy your hotel breakfast, then you will head to Yungang Grottos, which was first chiseled in the first year of Year Heping in Northern Wei and Monk Tan Yao at that time chiseled it for duty of Emperor Wencheng. Most of the grottoes were finished in the eighteenth year of Year Taihe in Northern Wei before the capital moved to Luoyang, which lasted for forty years. 

Then you will head to Shanhua Temple, which is renowned for its layout that was preserved its original design since about 1000 years ago.

Later, you will be transferred back to Datong railway station to catch the bullet train back to Beijing. Upon arrival, you will be transferred back to your Beijing hotel where the tour concludes.
