Winter Xinjiang 9-Day Tour: Urumqi, Tianchi, Kanas and Hemu

Welcome to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China. Upon arrival Urumqi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your free time to explore.

Enjoy your hotel breakfast, then drive hours to Tianchi, or Heavenly Lake in English. It is high mountain lake in the Tianshan Mountains, and inscribed on the world heritage by UNESCO. 

In the afternoon, you will return to Urumqi. Time permitting, you can visit Erdaoqiao International Bazaar. 

After hotel breakfast, you will travel from Urumqi to Buerjin for about 7 hours by car via the desert highway. Upon arrival, you will visit the Multi-colored Bay, which is a pretty river bay of Ertix River near Buerjin County. Note it is not certain to open in winter sometimes.

Then, you will check in the hotel and rest.

Later, you can explore the night market in Buerjin. Note the market sometimes will be close in winter.

Enjoy your hotel breakfast, then take a private vehicle from Buerjin to Kanas. It takes about 3 hours along the mountain road for about 160km. In winter, you will drive into the lake area directly. Enjoy the landscape on the route, and then wander around in the Kanas area.

Enjoy the fabulous winter Kanas Lake view in the morning.

Then you will take a private vehicle from Kanas to Hemu Village. This is a small picturesque village, and extremely quiet in winter. There are very few tourists here in winter as it is quite remote. However, it is amazing to enjoy the winter snow landscape and wooden houses tour here. 

Today you will enjoy your free day in Hemu Village. You can go skiing on your own cost, or stay in the village, or wander around etc.

Enjoy your free morning, then you will travel from Hemu Village back to Buerjin for baout 3 hours.

After hotel breakfast, you will take 7-hour car ride back to Urumqi.

Today you will depart from Urumqi. You will be transferred to Urumqi airport to catch your flight, where the wonderful tour concludes.
