The Opium War Museum is situated in Humen Town, Dongguan City, China, which collects and displays the research, relics, and history about the Opium War (1840-1842AD). This private day tour will let you take a private vehicle in the morning from Guangzhou to Humen Town and explore the historical attractions. You will visit the museum with your local guide to know the famous Lin Zexu General, and learn the modern history that happened in Humen nearly 200 years ago. Then you will head to Weiyuan Fort where you will view the ancient cannons by the sea. Moreover, you will walk along the sea coast to look at the ocean and the impressive Humen Bridge. Later, you will get back to your Guangzhou hotel to conclude the historical day tour.
At 8:30am, we will pick you up and drive about 80km for 1.5 hours from Guangzhou to Humen in Dongguan.
The Opium Museum is consisted of Lin Zexu Memorial, Sea Battle Museum, Shajiao Fort and Weiyuan Fort. It covers an area of 800,000 square meters.
Built in 1957, the Opium War Museum displays the historical materials of Lin Zexu's opium destruction and the Opium War, There are two basic exhibitions: Opium Destruction at Humen and the Opium Wars.
Then you will visit Weiyuan Fort. Known as The Great Wall on the waters, Weiyuan Fort used to be the coastal defense system to fight against the invaders. The canons along the coast are still well-preserved to display the history about 200 years ago.
Then you will walk along the sea coast to view the impressive Humen Bridge.
Later, you will be transferred back to Guangzhou where the day tour concludes.
