YongQingFang(永庆坊 in Chinese) is located in the center of Guangzhou old town, Enning Road, Liwan District. It’s a successful combination of old town and modern design. The most famous attraction here is the "ancestral house of Bruce Lee".
The Enning road used to be the economic center of southern China when the port opened during the Qing Dynasty. It was called "Xiguan" in the past. After 1950s, Enning Road has experienced a huge recession and lost its prosperity. It looked desolated. Luckily, government took it important and included it to the old city renovation plans in 2017. The main street is redeveloped as the cultural street and become the popular travel spot of Guangzhou again currently. The new style restaurants, shops and creative cultural studios in this street, and the old style residential houses in that street. It's a good combination of old and new tone.
It is interesting to visit the Canton Opera Museum in the YongQingFang area, which offers all sorts of information about the local opera including the colorful costumes.
The Dieyue Bridge over the canal here is very famous for the bridge with its reflection reflected by the lights in the evening, looking like a full moon, which has become the taken of YongQingFang.
If you have time, it is a unique experience to take a boat along the canal beside YongQingFang by viewing the old houses, green trees, bars, shops, and pubs etc.
