Zhenhai Tower is located in the Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou, China. It is also the Guangzhou Museum. Known as the Five Storey Tower for Zhenhai Tower, it was built by Prince Yongjia of the Ming Dynasty in 1380 during the reign of Emperor Hongwu.
The legend goes that the Emperor Zhuyuanzhang in Ming Dynasty was told by a Taoist that the an imperial spirit was appeared in Guangdong area, which would make trouble for Ming Dynasty, hence the emperor asked his sun Prince Yongjia who was then the governor of Guangzhou to build a tower to suppress the spirit.
Nowadays the tower houses various relics displaying the history of Guangzhou from Neolithic times to early part f this century. The travelers will be impressed by the panoramic view of the city when they cilm up to the top floor of the tower.
