Zhaoxing Dong Village, 肇兴 in Chinese, is located on the southeast of Kaili in Guizhou Province. There are around 1000 families living here, and majority are Dong ethnic group. The have been here generation by genaration to form a unique culture and tradition. The stilted houses in Zhaoxing Village are built on the hills to follow the local landform. The terrace are planted normally rice. The village is well-preserved for the Dong tradition, where you will view the colorful costumes, silver ornaments, and food etc. Particular the Drum Tower, the wind and rain bridge, and wooden houses are very different here.
Recent years, it is getting very popular to visit here and it is getting touristy, but still is interesting to wander around.
