In Kashgar, there is an old town that can be dated back 100 years ago. There are about 130,000 civilians living in the old town in the old houses that are built with bricks with typical Uyghur style. Normally these houses are 3 or 4, even 5 storeys with colorful decoration and well-designed architecture. There are shops, restaurants, workshops etc. in the old town, the travellers can wander in the lanes to explore the maze, the square bricks pavements indicating the road is a dead end, and hexagon bricks pavements indicating the road is connected to outside.
It is wonderful to view the old houses and Uyghur people enjoying their traditional life in the old town. Travelers can visit there on the ancient Silk Road while traveling to China.
