Yuantong Temple

Yuantong Temple 圆通寺, is the the largest Buddhist complex in Kunming, which is popular with pilgrims. It is over 1,000 years old and has seen many changes in architectural style, evident in its renovations. The Shakyamuni statue in the new hall at the back of the temple complex was a gift from the King of Thailand. It is pleasant to wander through its gardens and pagodas and there is a vegetarian restaurant next door.
