This tour will let you explore Bipenggou, Gubei Glacier in 3 days in western Sichuan Province in China.
Bipenggou Valley, about 3.5 hours from downtown Chengdu, locates in Li county, Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture of Sichuan province. It is famous for clear lakes, forests, snow-capped mountains, waterfalls and azaleas, and got the title "Little Switzerland in Western Sichuan". It is also one of the most ideal domestic destinations to appreciate red leaves in colorful Autumn.
Dagu Glacier, is the lowest, largest and youngest glacier in the world. And it is the nearest glacier from the city and the most beautiful scenery in the glacier region so far. Except glacier, there're peaceful lakes, forests, wild life, and the highest cableway in the world, at the altitude of 4,860 metres ( 15,944 foot). And also, there's a cafe you cannot miss, which is at the highest altitude in the world.
Earthquake memorial sites in Yingxiu, which shed light on how people in the area recovered from the 8.0 magnitude earthquake which hit the region in 2008. The broken buildings, especially the school, are still kept their original look. It shocks every tourist that how terrible the disaster and how hard the rescue at that moment.
Pick up in the morning from your hotel, central located in Chengdu. Transfer to Bipenggou Valley for 3.5 hours by driving. You'll be transfered by shuttle bus of the scenic spot to the viewing stop, then begin your walking tour in the paradise. Clear lakes, snow-capped mount, primitive forest, wild flowers are around you.
After visit, you'll be transfered to Guergou Town for overnight. It's famous for hot spring. You can enjoy it in your hotel and relax.
Early morning transfer from hotel, about 5-hour driving to Dagu Glacier, which has the highest cable way and cafe in the world, altitude 4,860 metres (15,944 feet), with beautiful fairy tale snow view throughout the tour.
After that, you'll go to a beautiful Tibetan village: YangRongHaDe. It means "the place that Immortals love" . Typical Tibetan dwellings, brilliant flowers, colorful Tibetan prayer flags, and auspicious Tibetan signs can be seen everywhere. You'll be overnight here, to feel the real Tibetan life.
To take a walk in the village after breakfast, then start to drive back to Chengdu. On the way, you'll pass Yingxiu town, Wenchuan county. Then stop and visit the earthquake memorial sites, which shed light on how people in the area recovered from the 8.0 magnitude earthquake which hit the region in 2008, and embark on their new life after the disaster in the ensuing years. The broken buildings are still their look of that moment, just reinforced to avoid falling down. You can see how terrible the disaster, and how hard to rescue at that time.
After visit, continue driving back to Chengdu hotel, where the tour concludes.
