Private Day Tour to Discover Turpan

Meet your guide in the lobby of your Turpan hotel at 9:00am. Then you will head to the Bezklik Thousand Buddha Caves that is hidden in the Flaming Mountain. The colorful fresco and statues can be tracked back to the 15th century.

Move to the Astana Tombs, once a public cemetery 1,000 years ago for the citizens of the Gaochang Kingdom. It is impressive to view well-preserved tomb paintings in three tombs here, displaying the local life 1200 years ago.

Afterwards, you will head to the Ancient City of Gaochang, which used to be one of the most renowned kingdoms in the history along the Silk Road. There are temples, stupas, city walls, and residential area to view in the city ruin.

Enjoy your lunch in the local restaurant.

Then you head to Karez Irrigation System, where you will know where the water is from in the oasis town.

The Ancient City of Jiaohe was built on a 38-meter highland, which looks like a huge boat that is going to set off. Though the city was abandoned during about 15th century,  there are well-preserved houses, temples, and stupas etc.

Later, you will be transferred back to your Turpan hotel where the tour concludes.
