Welcome to Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province on the ancient Silk Road. Upon arrival Lanzhou, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the city. Enjoy your free time for the rest of today if you arrive early.
Today you will visit Gansu Provincial Museum firstly, which exhibits the relics and antiques from Silk Road, particularly the Galloping Horse Statue in the museum is a must-see. Afterwards you will take a 2-hour car ride to Linxia where we will take ferry to view the Binglingsi Grottos that was built beside Yellow River, and various Buddha Statues and the scenery around the Grottos are incredible.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to the hotel in Linxia(Labrang).
Today you will walk up to a spot where you can have bird view of the entire monastery, then you will visit Langrang Temple with a local Lama guide. Labrang Monastery is one of the six biggest Tibetan monasteries presenting typical Tibetan Buddhism culture.
Enjoy the free afternoon at the small town.
Take a long ride toady to Xining. On the way you will see the stunning grassland and many Tibetan villages. Stop in Tongren to visit Rongwo Monastery, a well-known Tibetan temple in Qinghai Province, particulalrly the lunar new year celebration and its Thangka.
You will be transferred to visit Kumbum Monastery which is about 25 km from Xining. As birth place of Tsongkhpa who was the founder of Yellow Hat School of Tibetan Buddhism, Kumbum Monastery has impressive Buddha states, yak butter carvings etc. You will stay here for about 2 hours before transferring to Xining airport or Xining railway station where the trip concludes. You can book our another tour to Zhangye.
